At the risk of making conversation, I'm curious to know what was the worst away match you ever went to, following the mighty whites.
"Worst" could refer to not just the result, but the ground, the weather, or something in particular that happened on the day. Or all four!
Without thinking too hard, mine would be Doncaster away towards the end of 2001-02. We got battered 4-0, stood in a rubbish away end in a rubbish ground, were flirting with relegation, and some chavs tried to start a fight.
Plus we had such talents as Richard Holmes, Ross Diamond and Jimmy Quiggin playing for us. Holmes in particular I remember being absolutely crap at right back.

I remember going to Yeovil when we were in the Conference and standing on their lovely open terrace when it was piddling down. The pitch at Huish Park was more sand than grass at the time too. Parry scored a cracking goal that bounced down off the bar, over the line and out again but the ref didn't see it! I think Yeovil scored the winner pretty late on too. We may have had a man down injured at the time too(?). It was a bit contraversial anyway, I remember that much. Despite all that we had a quite enjoyable day anyway so don't know if it counts as a worst away day!

Yeah, I went to a game down at the Huish when it was p1ssing down, we lost 4-0 I think and there was a kid at the front of the terrace that looked like he was on the verge of goin nuts, jumping up and down. I seem to recall John Grant played for us Another was the game at Burton when a load of Hereford 'supporters' ( : decided to run across the pitch and beat the living daylights out of the Burton fans-the poor b@stards were running for their lives but I remember seeing one Burton supporter really getting smashed up. Thank f*ck a lot of those got locked up afterwards. However, one bright spot in that game was when those tw@ts were jumping over the wall and one dropped their programme by me, which I like to feel was a small way towards their punishment. I've still got it, actually.

Yep, i think there was-livened up another dull Hereford performance. After that game I grudgingly conceded that Yeovil probably deserved promotion that year.
Huish Park is a cr@ppy place for away fans-open terrace to make it as unfriendly as possible for opposition supporters, with good facilities for home fans. For a newish stadium that seemed quite surprising.

I think Port Vale away was my last worst match, although last season's 6-1 drubbing at Bristol Rovers was pitiful. The most depressing match was Darlington away 95/96 in the playoff semi. Horrible ground, horrible supporters and vile players. I sent their manager a congratulations card when they got knocked out in the playoff final.
Of course they've got a new ground now, it will be the best in the Conference. Which reminds me, get well soon Rob Purdie.

Woking away - 2000 F.A Cup. We got drenched, lost 1-0 and witnessed Hereford hooligans disgracing our club as we left the ground. Kerry Giddings, limited but as honest a player you could wish for was abused by his own support from start to finish. Worse still, it was the last away game I attended having left the country shortly afterwards - returning briefly for the play off defeat to Stevenage some 5 years later

I have only been to one away game, and that was the Carlisle game last season, where we won 1-2! great day, all "70" of us were singing away and making more noise than the rest of the ground!
