Just arrived back from Bury.....not impressed but not surprised either. Had a fairly unenjoyable journey up, with numerous roadworks, diversions and detours it seemed. Despite setting out at half 12, I managed to miss the first four minutes - and therefore the goal....although I heard the "roar" as I turned the corner up to the ground. 15 quid to get in, fair enough. Away end is fairly good although a bit far from the pitch. Not many of us there, but couldn't be bothered to count us all. I thought we were rubbish first half going forward, and when Pugh or Done did run with the ball, they seemed to delay the through ball for too long, time and time again. Plus they seemed to be going more sideways than forward. Second half we were a bit better, started putting more crosses into the box. Leon had a couple of decent chances...one he missed, the other Brown made a good save and Leon's overhead kick on the rebound went wide. I don't think our "penalty shout" was a penalty at all. Difficult to choose a MoM, probably Pugh although noone really caught the eye. I guess you could say that Trewick will get better as he gets more managerial experience. Turner won't replace him as that will cost too much money. So this season is basically a write-off. Marvellous.

Thanks for the report. Interesting what you say about Done and Pugh slowing it up going forward. That's exactly what I thought on Tuesday - many times it looked like the break was on but instead of simply running at them they would check back and look for a pass, by which time the defence had re-grouped and the initiative was lost. Realistiscally the season is over in terms of achieving anything in the league - something we had to get used to in the Conference days many times! Its interesting you say about Trewick needing managerial experience. Many times nowadays people want instant success from relatively new managers but is this realistic? I think we may as well give Trewick to the end of the season now - we're in no real danger of going down at the moment - and see how things go from here on in.
